Some comments added to my blog reminded me of organizations that help people from other countries bring their products to the US. One of these is run by Debby Rooney, a great lady who walks the talk, literally. Every year she leads a group of people to visit the school in Kenya that her group sponsors, and they, along with the students undertake a Walkathon to raise funds for the school. The women of the community make beaded articles, and Debby brings them back to the US for sale. The profits go back to the women. Have a look at their web site. A beaded keychain is $15 and helps keep a girl in school. www.beadsforeducation.org.
