I have been creating beaded jewelry for about 16 years, with many more years of experience in all kinds of crafts, from crochet to dollhouse miniatures. My theory is that all art and craft knowledge makes the next project that much more interesting. With that in mind, I started this blog to document the fun and fantastic things I come across in my never-ending search for inspiration and just plain cool stuff.
I will be joined from time to time by my daughter, Liz who is also art and craft-minded (check out her blog at almostadultlife.blogspot.com), and who often has a different take on things. Some of our best projects come from our collaboration.
Hello, Bead Sophisticate!
Thank you so much for mentioning Fire Mountain Gems in your posting on Fair Trade! We appreciate that you’ve noticed the time and care we take to source and sell as fairly as possible.
I wasn’t certain if you realized that the link given for our website (www.fmg.com) doesn’t actually go to our website. fmg.com is the website for the Food Management Group — I’m sure they’re great folks, but they might be a little puzzled if they get asked about beads!
http://www.firemountaingems.com is the URL for the Fire Mountain Gems site. It would be awesome with awesome sauce if that could be changed…
Thank you so much!

Hi, Barbara. I make that mistake just about every time I have to type in your url. Sorry! Usually I go to your site via your newsletter. One day it will sink in.
